Our garden beds do not have a floor. The bed is placed directly onto the soil in your garden. Worms and micro-organisms from your garden can freely enter the bed to maintain a healthy environment for your plants. The garden bed becomes a part of the existing ecosystem, rather than an isolated island. Drainage of the soil in the bed can be assisted by placing a layer of porous material in the bottom of the bed.
